The Job of a TRT
As a TRT, these are the duties that I perform for Portsmouth Public Schools. A TRT is a Professional Staff Developer that;
>focuses on integration, professional development and support programs at the building level, which improve teaching and learning through the use of technology.
>plans, designs, develops, models, co-teaches and shares technology infused lessons to support District curricula.
>provides training and in-services to support issues(basic troubleshooting involving user, software, hardware, and networking issues).
>promotes ethical use of computers as described in the District’s Acceptable Use Policy.
>assists in the evaluation of software.
>functions as liaison between school and District I.T.
>provides instructional technology leadership, reflecting the Virginia Computer/Technology Standards of Learning, the Virginia Technology Standards for instructional Personnel, and the International Society for Technology in Education National Educational Technology Standards (ISTE-NETS).
>functions in many roles with responsibilities as instructional systems designer and trainer, resource specialist, project manager, consultant, facilitator, and catalyst for continuous progress.
>assists with building inventory of instructional technology resources including hardware and software as identified, purchased and distributed by Information Technology.
>Uses idntified needs and data to drive instructional technology integration.
