It’s always fun finding a gold mine of resources, and Karen at “Great Tech-spectations!” has recently posted some very useful (if not just plain fun to destress playing at) for integrating technology into art lessons, or maybe even sites for illustrating for book reports, autobiographies, or the like. While the sites focus on specific artists, these sites would be great for ITRT/TRTs to use with introducing art teachers to how to bring computers into their instruction:
Mr. Picassohead: Create a face on line Picasso style
Pointillism Practice Page : “Georges Seurat invented the technique known as Pointilism, which uses tiny dots instead of broad strokes to put the paint on the canvas. The individual dots of red, yellow and blue are sucked in through your eyes and mixed up in your head to create a variety of shimmering shades.” Try your own!
Matisse for Kids : Click on the “Matisse for Kids” on the bottom right (Baltimore Museum of Art)
Jackson Pollack : Paints with drips, splatters, and splashes (this was fun!). Click the second hyper link–not the first.
Jungle - Create a painting like Rousseau
Surreal Painter – Make a painting like Dali or Picasso
Paint a Still Life like the old masters
