4th and 6th grade teachers, please don’t forget the Content Academies to be held this afternoon.  4th grade will meet with Sarah at 4:15pm at John Tyler in the library, and 6th grade will meet with Lisa at 4:15 at IRC in the conference room.

We hope everyone had a great summer, and want to welcome you back for another school year!

We have begun to post revised materials for 4th and 6th grade on the blog, so check out those pages.  We’ll be updating it periodically throughout the year as we revise more materials.

Just a quick note about power points.  Since they seem to slow down the pages, instead of having each individual power point listed under the SOL’s, they will all be stored on Slideshare.  The link to the Slideshare site is listed at the top of each page.  Hopefully this will speed things up a bit.

This Friday, June 18th, we will be removing all resources from the blog to work on updating the materials to correlate with new curriculum.  If there’s something you want, please download it before then!

The 6th grade content review workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd, at 4:15pm.  It will be in the library at John Tyler Elementary.  I need an RSVP from everyone attending by Friday, March 19th.  There are some materials I need to purchase this weekend, and I need a head count.  I will only have materials for those who RSVP.  Send your RSVP to mary.jones@pps.k12.va.us.

The March lead teacher meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 16th, at 4:15 pm.  We will meet at John Tyler Elementary at 4:15.

Lead teachers, don’t forget that February’s meeting will be at Woodrow Wilson High School at 4:15pm in room 127. (This room is in the Humanities wing.)

There will be a K-2 stations workshop on Tueday, February 2 at 4:15pm in Conference Room 1 at IRC.  Please RSVP to mary.jones@pps.k12.va.us or mary.west@pps.k12.va.us to confirm your attendance.

There will be a timelines workshop for USII teachers on Tuesday, January 26th at IRC.  The meeting will begin at 3:15pm in the conference room.  Please RSVP to Mary.west@pps.k12.va.us or mary.jones@pps.k12.va.us.

Our January lead teacher meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 19th, at 4:15pm in Conference Room 1 at IRC.

On Wednesday, January 20th, there will be a K-2 Economics workshop with Ruth Cookson.  It will take place in the Little Theater at Wilson High School at 4:15pm.  Please RSVP to Mary West at 393-8555 or mary.west@pps.k12.va.us.  Ruth always has great workshops with lots of materials and great ideas.

A workshop for 6th grade teachers will be held Tuesday, January 12, at 4:15pm in Conference Room 1 at IRC.  You will receive the CD with unit plans for the 3rd nine weeks.  Please RSVP to Mrs. Jones at mary.jones@pps.k12.va.us.
