By breaking into the mind of the unmotivated student, technology integration can lower the teacher’s stress level. Our students have been raised in a media-rich world. Effective technology projects with small group collaboration have enhanced learning by decreasing discipline incidents in unmotivated students and consistently raised the level of thinking skills. Because technology integration allows the students to be more actively engaged in the lesson, they are more attentive and least likely to be restless and/or behavior-challenged in the classroom. With a foundation in current research, we will share the movie, PhotoStory, and Publisher projects successfully implemented in a K-6 elementary school. Learn how to avoid the pitfalls and discover the benefits of effective technology integration.

In these times of high stakes accountability testing, students AND teachers are getting stressed. Subsequently, the pressure is causing everyone to focus more on preparing for Test Day and lose focus on how learning can be fun. An engaged learner who owns his own learning (we know this, but do we DO it?) results in an atmosphere of engaged and focused learning. We will show simple and engaging activities that have been used in our schools as ITRTs that resulted in positive benefits!
