Podcast book reports

I got an SOS  request from Mrs. Daniels to help her with her podcast bookreports. http://ppsblogs.net/deborahdaniels/2007/10/03/oh-no-not-a-book-report/ It seems her kids are ready to record and she needs an extra set of hands to get things in motion.   So I spent the first part of the day recording in the cafeteria.  It’s an excellent place to record I would never have guessed!  Once the lunch rotations started, we moved to the library.

Here’s a sample of what we were doing today raw, no frills..

The kids want to publish the finished products on their own blogs…we’ll have to see if there is a way to get that done.

The kids were very excited to begin their podcasts. I was surprised at the ease with which they went together. I had forgotten what a neat program Audacity was and what a jewel it was for those of us who do not consider ourselves particularly “tech savy.”

What an AWESOME idea! You could tell how much the boy enjoyed “Bearstone” from the sound of his voice. By the way, what is an AR book?

AR is a reference to Accelerated Reader. It’s a very expensive program though. http://www.bookadventure.com provides the same service for FREE.
